The Lovereading4Kids comment

10+ (Years 6-7, KS 2-3). A fresh new look for the handy Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus with 150,000 synonyms and an extremely durable linen finish cover and tough binding. The design is modern, fresh and easy-to-use with virtual alphabet tabs on every page to help with navigational skills. It’s the perfect companion to the Oxford Pocket School Dictionary.

Synopsis

Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus by Robert Allen

Identical in content to the School Thesaurus but in a handy pocket size, each entry is in alphabetical order, with its word class and a broad range of imaginative synonyms with supporting example sentences. Guidewords at the top of each page and the full alphabet with a tab on the letter of the page make it very easy to navigate; the page design is clear and straightforward. It features 50 useful tinted panels that give an increased number of synonyms for words that are often overused, for example put , nice, or say. There are also almost 90 topic panels - themes that students are often writing about. These focus on vocabulary connected to the topic, for example, when writing about the weather there are general words to do with the weather, plus meteorological instruments, words to do with air pressure, to do with rain or other precipitation, to do with sky and clouds, to do with temperature or to do with wind. A wealth of material in a very sturdy binding for durability.
