Wild Reads: Rats by Jan Mark

Wild Reads: Rats by Jan Mark

This fantastic book about rats covers a wide range of topics. Find about travelling rats and rats that live in trees; or read the story of Alex's pet rat, Ratty. Packed with facts and illustrations (did you know that rats can live anywhere - even in sewers?!) This is a wonderful introduction to the animal world for young readers. For real rat enthusiasts this book also suggests websites and places to visit to find out even more! Other titles in this series: Big Cats, Spiders, Elephants, Bees, Dinosaurs, Wolves, Snakes, Sharks, Frogs and Toads, Whales, Crocodiles, Dogs and Horses.

The minute I opened [Wild Reads], my kids, aged 8 and 5, devoured them They are filled with colorful, very detailed drawings to interest the non-readers, and have large print for young readers. The books don't talk down to the kids, however. There are plenty of big words to learn, but each book comes with a handy glossary in the back These books help make nonfiction more accessible to children and show that nonfiction can be just as fun and interesting as fiction. --Wired Magazine, GeekDad Children will go 'wild
