Synopsis

The Big Purple Wonderbook by Enid Richemont

Skylarks is a new series of fiction books divided by chapters and covering a wide range of genres from adventure, humour and fairy tale to fantasy, mystery and science fiction. Each story will run to approximately 2,000 words, broken into 7 or 8 chapters and illustrated in full colour in a range of artwork styles, with one or two images per spread. This series will take young independent readers into 'real books' and give them the confidence to tackle texts with a longer extent. When Tom is out shopping with his mum, he finds a big purple book in a charity shop. The book has gold edges and a red silk bookmark, but looks old and dusty. Tom has a big surprise when it starts to speak to him and grants him three magical wishes! It looks like the big purple book isn't quite as dull as it first seemed...
