Finding Out is written specially for the Caribbean. It covers all the material in the Primary science syllabuses used in the region. There is a book for each of the six grades which includes the activities for the students and the corresponding teacher notes. Features of the course: children are encouraged to find out for themselves, by carrying out a wide variety of activities; the activities should help children develop investigative and manipulative skills; materials needed for the activities are easily available; a lot of use is made of the natural surroundings for collecting and exploring; reading, writing and number skills are fully incorporated and developed by the course; there are appropriate term tests and instructions; all the content and process skills important at the primary level are covered in the course; the work is presented week by week for easy teacher reference; full teacher notes for all the lessons are included in the book; parents and guardians are encouraged to use the teacher notes to help their children learn at home.
