New Focus English for Sierra Leone by David Cobb, etc., Audette Campbell, Theodora Elliott

New Focus English is a total response to the current National Curriculum, and provides a complete course for the entire teaching year. New Focus English for Senior Secondary Schools offers these features: communicative use of language, following the principles of active learning; purposeful integration of the major language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing; practice of sub-skills, such as summary writing, listening comprehension, dictation, pronunciation and punctuation; motivation through relevance to student's real needs and interests, and through the encouragement of independent learning; a thorough programme of vocabulary development; a systematic review, in simple terms, of students' knowledge of grammar; familiarization with different types of English. Procedures for using New Focus English are explained fully in the accompanying Teacher's Book.
