Synopsis

The Christian Experience by Kevin O'Donnell, J.F. Aylett

Directed at below-average Key Stage 3 students, this book provides an easy-to-read foundation version of the Seeking Religion series. It aims to offer meaningful differentiation via tasks, special features and carefully levelled text activities. It has been designed to provide a balanced, factual and culturally sensitive approach to the major world religions, along with opportunities for students to explore and reflect on their own beliefs and values. The book meets all of the curriculum guidelines, incorporating both the learning about and learning from aspects of RE, and features suitable questions and activities, scattered tasks throughout the text and highlighted key words.

Reviews

These Key Stage 3 books offer information and activities about the six major world religions. The foundation edition for lower-ability pupils has been editied by a special needs consultant: the text is simpler and the print size is larger, reflecting the lower reading age of the foundation students. Questions in each section allow students to consolidate their learning. The books are beautifully produced with high quality photographs. Information is accurate and the books are written to conform to the QCA model syllabuses, so RE teachers will find them very useful. -- J Erricker 20000101
