Synopsis

Physics Matters by Nick England

Now into its third edition, Physics Matters has been fully updated and revised to provide an exact match to the new GCSE specifications to be taught from September 2001. Primarily focused at Higher tier candidates, the book covers separate physics and the physics component of Single and Double Award Science. This revised edition includes innovative practical activities and highlights opportunities for incorporating ICT into science lessons. Emphasis is also placed on the new Ideas and Evidence strand of Science 1. A wealth of exam questions is provided to offer students considerable practice prior to their final examination.

Reviews

Aimed at Higher tier candidates, this book more than adequately covers most of the material required by separate science Physics students. The book is a great improvement upon previous editions, with excellent diagrams and clear concise explanations. The addition of websites seems an excellent step forward, and whilst some will inevitably change within the life of this book, those sites which don't change will add a new dimension to teaching and learning. An ample supply of questions litter the text, with a good bank of examination standard questions at the end of each chapter. This is a well thought-out general physics text which is colourful, clear and well presented. Physics Education
