This book delivers the requirements of The Writer's Craft and Knowledge About Language strands within the National Guidelines for 5-14 English Language in Scotland (Levels D, E and F). In particular, it will: a) increase pupils' conscious awareness of how writers achieve their effects; b) enable young writers to assimilate and replicate these techniques themselves; c) provide inspiring examples of well-crafted writing.
