Century 5-6 Reader by Sarah Singleton

Century 5-6 Reader by Sarah Singleton

The Hodder Reading Project Level 5-6 identifies blocks to progression and takes pupils from National Curriculum Level 5 to Level 6. It comprises the Teacher's Resource and the 6 Readers. Reader 1, Level 5, Century by Sarah Singleton. Waking at sun-down and falling asleep at sun-rise, sisters Mercy and Charity are trapped in an eternal winter, every day the same as the last. But one night Mercy wakes to find a single snowdrop on her pillow: a sign of spring, light and other life. An encounter with the mysterious Claudius awakens memories of a happier time and leads Mercy to travel through the four circles of time her father has created to protect his daughters - each circle capturing a significant day in the family's past. As she does so, she weakens the reality of the eternal winter day of her present but it's the only way to reveal the truth of her family's secret and unlock an unpredictable yet hopeful future for her and her sister.

Lovereading is just a convenient way to find new books and hear others opinions on them.

Sarah Murray – age 15

You give me age appropriate ideas of books I can read and buy for the children and find out what other children their age think of them too.

It has introduced my children to books we hadn’t come across before. Real children’s reviews gives a great insight into what others think to

It is THE website to use for narrowing down your search for any book. Definitely knocks the socks off any other book review website.

It gives me a chance to read types of books that I would not normally try, and it motivates me to read every night to finish it!
