Synopsis

The Fun Book of Scary Stuff by Emily Jenkins

There are lots of frightening things out there. Witches. Trolls. Sharks. The dark! But nothing seems as scary once you turn on the light. In this hilarious picture book, a boy and his two dogs go through a list of all the things, both real and imagined, that make the hair on the backs of their necks stand on end - and come up with a clever way to face their fears.

Reviews

The Fun Book of Scary Stuff Readers and their grown-ups will howl with laughter at the dry humor and the detailed illustrations that capture every eye roll and skeptical sideways glance. Jenkins and Yum perfectly portray the anxiety and false bravado of this delightful cast of characters who ultimately find fun in the scary stuff. --Kirkus Reviews, starred review With humor and logic in their arsenal, Jenkins and Yum demystify fear in this encouraging show-and-tell. --Publishers Weekly A not-so-scary look at talking about and tackling fears together. --School Library Journal Treating fears with humor is a great way to get them out into the open, and this could be a funny discussion-starter as well as a complement to Halloween spookiness. --BCCB Children will be amused and reassured by this playful combination of scary and fun. --Booklist
