This title provides an introduction to the harmful effects of waste on the environment which looks at how children can help to reduce waste in their daily lives.It explores the need to avoid creating unnecessary waste, and the responsibility of disposing of waste in environmentally acceptable ways.It explains the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources and defines each material in these terms. It encourages the reader to play their part, for example by taking metal and glass to recycling centres, thinking about ways they can reduce the amount of water used and how to reduce food waste.
