About the Author

Karen Romano Young is an experienced science writer for Scholastic News, Cricket Magazine, and National Geographic. Her books include Watching Whales, a nonfiction picture book (HarperCollins), and Doodlebug and Stuck in the Middle, each a novel in doodles (Macmillan/Feiwel & Friends). As an author and artist, she has participated in ocean studies out of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and is a Communications Fellow with Robert Ballard s Ocean Exploration Trust.
