Synopsis

The Gingerbread Man South African edition by Gerald Rose

Cambridge Reading Routes is a reading programme for the first seven years of schooling in South Africa.

About the Author

Gerald Rose was born in Hong Kong. When the Second World War started, his father became a prisoner of war, and Gerald and his mother were interned in a civilian camp, which was where he saw his first live tiger. Gerald studied at Lowestoft School of Art and the RA schools. Frustrated by the dearth of good illustrated books for children, his wife, Elizabeth, helped him to write and illustrate a number of books. Gerald won the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1960 for Old Winkle and the Seagulls and won the Premio Critici in 1979 in Erba, Italy for 'Ahhh!' Said Stork. Gerald now lives in Hove, East Sussex.

It is THE website to use for narrowing down your search for any book. Definitely knocks the socks off any other book review website.

I am so pleased to have signed my kids up as they are reading a much wider range of books and even choosing books out of their comfort zone.

It has introduced my children to books we hadn’t come across before. Real children’s reviews gives a great insight into what others think to

Love “Lovereading4kids” as my son gets to hear about & read new books before his mates which keeps him interested in reading=a very happy Mum

A great way to introduce kids to great books, authors & genres. Parents can find age-appropriate books to share with their children.
