Creative Editing by Dorothy A. Bowles, Diane (San Diego State University) Borden

This title covers all aspects of editing for print and online media and provides ample practice exercises for students to demonstrate that they know how to apply principals from the text. It starts with basic language skills and leads students through every phase of a professional copy editors job.

I chose CREATIVE EDITING because it appeared to be more up to date and more in keeping with my editorial philosophy than the texts I had used before. So unhappy was I with those books that, for a couple of semesters, before CREATIVE EDITING came along, I used no text at all. I havenat seen any other texts that I find as useful as CREATIVE EDITING, which seems to strive to stay up to date.
