Synopsis

Philip's Caribbean Social Studies Atlas by

A new edition of Philip's trusted school atlas, specially created to meet the requirements of the CXC curriculum for Social Studies in the Caribbean, skilfully integrating maps, text, diagrams and illustrations. The introductory pages explain how to understand maps in general, with scale, direction, and latitude and longitude clearly described, before moving on to special maps of the Caribbean region as a whole. The detailed coverage includes topographical maps of all the countries and islands of the Caribbean, including Belize and Guyana, as well as land use, climate, population, tourism and trade thematic maps. There is a special focus on the key social studies themes of the Caribbean - its history, people, agriculture, industry and commerce. A World section completes the atlas, including topographical maps of the World and its continents, plus thematic maps on such topics as plate tectonics, the environment, energy and quality of life
