Synopsis

Charlie Lewis Plays for Time (Children's Classics) by Gene Kemp

For Charlie Lewis and his friends, the last term at Cricklepit Combined School could have been fun. That is, if the beloved Mr Merchant hadn't broken several bones in the holidays, and been replaced by the unbearable Mr Carter (alias Garters). As it is, they've just got to make the best of it - a difficult task for the dynamic Trish Moffat and her loveable but eccentric twin brother Rocket, who's always getting into trouble; and worse still for quiet, unassuming Charlie, whose famous mother just happens to be Mr Carter's favourite concert pianist.
