When Jesus Was a Little Boy by Margi McCombs

As an educator, author Margi McCombs has spent years listening to the questions children ask about the child Jesus. In careful response to those questions, she blesses the young and curious with these simple, truthful answers. Written in charming, easy-to-read rhyme and paired with Janet Samuel's bright, colorful illustrations, this delightful children's book brings Jesus' early years to light. Now, when little ones ask, What was Jesus like as a little boy? you need only open this book and read... When Jesus was a little boy, He would have played with YOU. He would have been the perfect friend-- So loving, kind, and true.

What a sweet book! My toddler loves the rhyming couplets and imaginative pictures and I love that she's hearing about Jesus. When she's older, I hope it helps her begin to understand that God knows everything we feel because he became fully man, starting as a little boy. When I'm not reading it aloud to her, I find her carrying it around and leafing through the pages on her own. What a wonderful book to add to our collection!

-Donna M. Kees, bookstore manager, Northland Church Bookstore The one-verse commentary on the childhood of Jesus found in Luke 2:52 stirs my imagination! What was life like for the Son of God as He lived His young life on earth? When Jesus was a Little Boy helps to satisfy my curiosity! It's a good read for young children who know Jesus and want to be more like Him.

-Barb Olson You know you've read a good book when you finish the last page and have made a friend. Children will find a dear friend in When Jesus Was a Little Boy. It's a great book!

-Becky Hunter, pastor's wife, grandmother, and former teacher I found When Jesus Was a Little Boy a delightful read with my inquisitive young grandchildren. The words bring the young Jesus to life. The rhyme, rhythm and colorful illustrations create an appetite for the child to want to read it again and again.

-Dr. Scott Turansky, cofounder, National Center for Biblical Parenting
