The Check-up by Helen Oxenbury
This marvellous collection of stories about memorable moments in childhood were Helen Oxenbury's first titles for Walker Books, and are widely regarded as a definitive collection of picture books for the very young. Beautifully illustrated in Helen Oxenbury's inimitable style, these are books to be read aloud; warm, affectionate visions of a child's world which children and their parents will instantly recognize and love.
