In the sequel to the modern classic, Handa's Surprise, two girls count all of the exotic and exciting animals they discover as they search for their grandma's hen.In the sequel to Handa's Surprise, Handa is searching for her grandma's black hen, Mondi. Every morning, she feeds Mondi her breakfast, but this morning Mondi hasn't come for her food. So Handa and her friend Akeyo begin to hunt for Mondi. While searching, they find two fluttery butterflies, three stripy mice, four little lizards and all sorts of other animals!

About the Author

Eileen Browne worked as a schoolteacher and a youth worker before becoming an author and illustrator. Her titles include Handa's Surprise, which was shortlisted for the 1995 Sheffield Children's Book Award, Handa's Hen and Tick Tock. She lives in Wiltshire.
