The Lovereading4Kids comment

A chunky board book version of this cheery farmyard tale of the little chick who goes to play with his friends – the pigs, the ducks, the sheep and the lambs – and listens to all the different noises they make. When the chick returns home, the results are very surprising for mother hen…Lovely strongly outlined pictures bring the farmyard to life.

Synopsis

This Little Chick by John Lawrence

Chick visits all his friends around the farmyard, mooing like a cow, quacking like a duck and baaing like a lamb! Several farmyard animals appear in this version of the traditional children's rhyme, packed with animal noises that children will love imitating. John Lawrence's detailed woodcut illustrations give this board book a distinctive look.

Reviews

"Lots of playful fun. The distinctive pictures also lend originality and make this both a visually and verbally enticing read." Junior
