Synopsis

God Bless Me A Child's Book of Prayers by Barbara Vagnozzi

Combining traditional childhood favourites with modern prayers and blessings, this brightly illustrated prayer book is one that will be treasured by children as they grow. Full of warmth, wit and wisdom, each of the 145 prayers is numbered and arranged thematically to give children words for reflecting on all aspects of their world. Sections include people of the world, animals, saying sorry, making amends, school, holidays, festivals, seasons, bedtime, and bereavement. Barbara Vagnozzi's bright full-page and spot illustrations give a playful feel and make the collection a delight to browse. Printed on a thick paper and bound in a quality hardback, this collection combines the feeling of a classic children's treasury with the appeal of contemporary styling.

Reviews

This gentle prayer book has an artful vibe. . . . Many are from the Bible, but traditional/anonymous verses, poems and even a Navajo night chant are also featured, giving the small-format book a broader spiritual vision (and audience).
