Get Busy This Christmas by Stephen Waterhouse

'The penguins love Christmas, and can't wait to get busy preparing all the Christmas treats!' Be bowled over by the penguin family and their enthusiasm for Christmas! Mum and penguin chicks sing carols, buy gifts, wrap them up, decorate their Christmas trees (two, one for inside the igloo, one for outside), cook tasty food, then...They EAT the nice tasty food, unwrap the presents, and party! Until they fall fast asleep...Irresistible! Praise for Get Busy this Christmas: 'this is a gorgeous book' and the scenes 'are all lusciously painted in glimmering hues' Irish Times 'the book is illustrated in such a way that the readers will want to jump right into this story and join too' Early Years Educator 'Lively illustrations glow with colour on each and every page' Early Years Educator

This is a beautifully illustrated and robust board book that captures the Christmas spirit as the Penguin family prepares for the festive season. Mother and the four chicks pitch enthusiastically into singing carols, buying and wrapping gifts, decorating both of their trees, cooking and eating tasty food, unwrapping presents and then partying until they all drop. There's plenty of opportunity for naming items from sleighs to Christmas stockings and for locating and counting the chicks both inside and outside the igloo as they throw themselves into the celebrations. An excellent and entertaining introduction to well-loved Christmas rituals that will hold the attention of young readers from start to finish. Ages 2-4 (Kirkus UK)
