Synopsis

No Trouble at All by Sally Grindley

When Grandfather bear has his two little grandchildren to stay he is sure that they are going to be very good indeed. No trouble at all in fact. So he tucks them up in bed, goes downstairs to read his book and even feels so proud of his ideally behaved grandchildren that he plans to take them on a picnic the next day. But as we all know, love is blind, and in this grandfathers case, deaf as well! A brilliant picture book that will entertain and amuse old and young alike as words and pictures do not always tell the same story.

Reviews

Grandfather Bear is delighted when his two grandchildren come to stay, and is sure they will be no trouble at all. How wrong he is! After tucking them up in bed for the night, the doting grandfather settles down for a peaceful evening by the fire, blissfully unaware of what his two charges are up to. Very soon the troublesome duo are out of bed, having pillow fights, raiding the kitchen and sneaking outside into the moonlit night. Young children will adore these mischievous little bears, and enjoy the simple irony of the words and pictures, which often contradict one another! They may even recognize something of themselves in the bears

-school age, enchantingly illustrated by Eleanor Taylor (Kirkus UK)
