A Little Bit of Oomph! by Barney Saltzberg

A Little Bit of Oomph! by Barney Saltzberg

How do you make something ordinary become extraordinary? Put a little oomph into it! Put your heart into everything you do, and everything you do will turn into something beautiful. Tiny seeds become gardens. Little notions turn into big oceans. Songs inside your head inspire people to dance. Even the book you're reading becomes something else completely. Filled with pop-ups, pull tabs, lift-the-flaps, accordion pulls and the wonderfully inventive doo-dads kids have grown accustomed to in Saltzberg's charming books A Little bit of Oomph! Is a triumph of paper-engineering that teaches by way of inspiration and surprise. All you need is to add a little oomph to the things you do - and a lot of heart.

A heaping helping of abstract uplift. Kirkus Reviews Saltzberg builds on the inspirational advice of Beautiful Oops! in a companion book that is encouraging without being cloying. . . . Throughout, Saltzberg s enthusiastic mixed-media paintings are in and of themselves a testament to the fertile possibilities that accompany an open mind. Publishers Weekly, starred review
