Synopsis

Hey God ... Wot U Up2? Prayers for Children by Children by Nigel Brine

This is a delightful and inspiring book of prayers written by children for children. The collection of prayers beautifully captures a child's wonderful capacity to be honest, humorous and profoundly aware of the presence of God in the everyday. Although the prayers have been written and drawn by children connected with The Salvation Army throughout the United Kingdom, Europe and Ghana, they are accessible to those of any Christian denomination and those of no faith as they are primarily expressions of a child's relationship with God. An attractive blend of originals in the children's own handwriting and artwork, type written reproductions and bible verses from the Psalms ensure that there is something that will connect with any child or adult reading the prayers. The book is ideal for personal use by a child, by a family wanting to pray together or by children's groups looking for a new worship resource in a faith or educational environment. A percentage of the sales of the prayer book will also be channelled to help fund international children's projects supported by The Salvation Army, more details of which can be found in the book's Introduction.

About the Author

The authors and artists of this delightful book are too many to mention by name. All are twelve or under. Some have drawn pictures to accompany their prayers. Some come from rural Ghana, others from inner-city Britain. Some are from a Christian background. Others have only a minimal connection with the Christian church. But all have some concept of and feeling for God.
