Synopsis

Nat the Cat's Sunny Smile by Jez Alborough

Nat the Cat jumps out of bed with a smile spread halfway round her head. She's packed a delicious picnic to share with her friends, Billy Goat and Hugo Hare. But Billy and Hugo are both feeling down. They are just not in a picnicky mood. Nat carries on alone, but she soon finds that her smile is gone. Luckily, she's passed on her smile to her friends and they soon come along to cheer her right back up again! Another gorgeous rhyming treat from the glorious Jez Alborough.

Reviews

The bold colourful illustrations are immediately engaging and this story can be put to good discussion use for the way in which it illustrates moods and feelings. The School Librarian The book is written in rhyme, which always goes down well with the Madhouse Mini-testers, and is great fun to read out loud at bedtime. Each page has a huge, brightly coloured picture that really enhances the text. The characters are all really appealing and the story really caught Pierre's imagination... I've just noticed on the back of the book that two further stories will be coming soon featuring Billy and Hugo - Billy the Goat's Big Breakfast and Hugo the Hare's Rainy Day - so I'll definitely have to look out for those to complete the collection. It has introduced my children to books we hadn’t come across before. Real children’s reviews gives a great insight into what others think to

Lovereading is just a convenient way to find new books and hear others opinions on them.

Sarah Murray – age 15

It is THE website to use for narrowing down your search for any book. Definitely knocks the socks off any other book review website.

I love Lovereading as it provides an honest opinion and showcases a range of fiction. Suited to both parents & kids alike, it’s a must-use.

Georgie Rowe – age 16

I am so pleased to have signed my kids up as they are reading a much wider range of books and even choosing books out of their comfort zone.

I have told all my friends, family & teachers to see for themselves just how great the site is. Without fail, they are hugely impressed.

Alexander Boxall – age 11

A great way to introduce kids to great books, authors & genres. Parents can find age-appropriate books to share with their children.
