Classic Children's Songs is a musical celebration of classic British children's writers. The audio CD features songs to poems by Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, Robert Louis Stevenson, Rudyard Kipling, Hilaire Belloc, Kenneth Grahame, A. A Milne, Walter de la Mare, J. R. R Tolkien and Spike Milligan. The songs include much-loved favourites, such as The Owl and the Pussy-cat , Christopher Robin is Saying His Prayers , The Lamplighter , They're Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace , Henry King (Who Chewed Little Bits of String) and Granny . The songs are performed by three of the UK's leading musicians: baritone Roderick Williams (described by BBC Music Magazine as a national treasure ), soprano Elizabeth Atherton and planist and BBC presenter, Iain Burnside.
