Synopsis

The Fox of Leafmould Parva by Mab West

An intelligent popular Fox finds himself obliged to move house owing to a building development happening in his field. Having recently inherited a fine dwelling called Earth Manor in the parish of Leafmould Parva, with the help of friends (a Goat and a Badger), he loads all his belongings onto a cart and leaves. The animals already living in Leafmould Parva have never had a fox among them, and when they get news of the imminent arrival of this one they panic. They decide to refuse to talk to him in the belief that when he finds he can not make any friends he will go away. When the Fox encounters this situation, where everyone runs away as soon as he appears, and if they can't escape in time they pretend not to hear when he speaks, he is not very happy. What these animals do not realise is that this fox is a VEGETARIAN. There is no danger that he will eat any of them. After many adventures, the village animals finally realize their mistake, and the fox becomes one of the most popular animals in the parish.
