This is the second in the series of 8 in all featuring Charlie Bone, a boy endowed with magical powers.  The plots twist and turn unpredictably and the stories are truly magical, fun and very enjoyable. Charlie must continue to use his powers against the evil Bloors - werewolves, hypnotists, mind-readers, sorcerers and witches - to try and find his father.  He has many loyal friends to help him do so but on his quest evil threatens him at every turn but Charlie’s indomitable spirit keeps him going.  Will good triumph over evil and right over wrong in the end?

Synopsis

On the coldest night in memory, Henry Yewbeam's cousin Zeke tricks him into using the Time Twister, a beautiful marble full of shining colours that draws him into the future. In January 2002, Charlie meets Henry reappearing at Bloor's in the twenty-first century, and realises Henry's cousin is none other than old Ezekiel Bloor. Charlie and Fidelio are joined by Cook and the Flames in their attempts to hide Henry from Ezekiel's spies. But Manfred captures Henry, and although Mrs Bloor tried to save him, she vanishes with the Time Twister. With the help of the endowed, Charlie must enter the portrait of Skarpo the sorceror and retrieve the wand of a Welsh wizard.

About The Author

Jenny Nimmo lives in a converted watermill in Wales.  Her husband, David Wynn Millward, is a painter and print-maker, and all three of her children speak Welsh fluently.  She finds Wales, a land of legends, a very inspiring place to live.

For as long as she can remember, Jenny has loved books.  At boarding school, reading was her way to overcome loneliness or boredom.  However, she is aware that not everyone finds reading comes easily, and feels passionately that every child should have all the help they need, and access to as many books as they want.
