Synopsis

I Win! Green Banana by Lynne Rickards

A tale of competitive twins from Lynne Rickards for Egmont's green banana series. Ella and Sam are twins who want to win! They are determined to beat each other, whether it's a race to get ready for school, or a race in the swimming pool. But who will get Nana to do what they want when she comes to stay? Green bananas are divided into short, simple stories to develop reading techniques over a number of sessions. They are suitable for NC Level 1 readers. Green Bananas are carefully designed with education in mind, supporting children's understanding of how to read longer books. Green bananas only use one clause in each sentence and rely on dialogue and speech bubbles to encourage reading aloud.

About the Author

Lynne Rickards

Lynne Rickards was born in Ottawa, Canada but now lives in Glasgow's West End with her family. She first started as an illustrator in her twenties but then decided to go back to University to study French. It wasn't until her forties that she discovered how much she liked writing.

Lynne's children are her main inspiration alongside her editor and agent. Her son is the model for Jack in 'Jack's Bed' because he hates going to bed but loves jumping on it! Lynne is particularly fond also of Jack's spotty leopard with gleaming eyes.

She describes herself as warm, open and fun!

To relax Lynne enjoys reading, making plasticine creatures with her daughter and snuggling with her son to watch Pingu.
