About the Author

Erika L. Shores knows a cow drinks enough water to fill a bathtub each day. She also knows pigs sometimes play with bowling balls and chickens make great pets. You won't find her backyard full of barnyard animals, but you will find her bookshelves full of books about them. Erika studied English at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and has written dozens of nonfiction books for kids. She lives in North Mankato, Minnesota, with her husband, two kids, and a big orange cat. Connie Colwell Miller is a writer, editor, and teacher who lives and works in Mankato, Minnesota. She studied writing at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and went on to earn her Masters in Fine Arts in creative writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she won an award for her poetry manuscript. She has written over 25 books for kids and published parenting essays and poetry online and in journals around the country. She spends her free time goofing around with her husband and three young, highly spirited children.
