About the Author

Paul Mason has written more than 100 books for children, on topics ranging from extreme sports to urban myths. Notable titles include Money Doesn't Grow on Trees and From Armpits to Zits for teens, and Monster Hunter, a series of books on tracking down and dealing with vampires, werewolves, extra-terrestrials, and ghosts. An avid surfer, snowboarder, and mountain biker, Paul writes many sports titles and has also produced a website guide to ski resorts. Elizabeth Raum has written over two-dozen nonfiction books for young readers, including a biography of Louis Armstrong for Capstone Press. She also has written picture books and adult nonfiction titles. She has a degrees in English literature and library science. Over the years, she has worked as a middle school and high school English teacher, an elementary school librarian, and a college library director. She loves to read and enjoys helping other readers discover great books. Elizabeth Raum has written many nonfiction books for children. She has also written picture books and books for adults. Two of her Capstone You Choose books, Orphan Trains: An Interactive History Adventure (2011) and Can You Survive Storm Chasing? (2012), are Junior Library Guild selections. Elizabeth lives in Michigan with her husband, Richard. Over the years she has lived in Vermont, New Jersey, Virginia, New York, and North Dakota. She has two grown sons and two granddaughters, who like reading her books. Elizabeth enjoys biking, hiking, reading, and-of course-writing! Patrick Catel has worked in children's publishing for over a dozen years. He has been involved in the publication of hundreds of titles on a wide range of topics. If it's winter and he's not working on books, he's probably hitting the slopes! Richard Spilsbury is an experienced author of nonfiction books for young people. He has written about a wide range of topics including science, nature, and history. Louise Spilsbury is a very experienced author of nonfiction books for young people. Her writing covers a wide range of topics from animals and science to history and social studies. Claire Throp loves sea mammals and spent far too long looking at them while supposedly doing research for this book! She has written children's nonfiction on subjects ranging from countries to sports to. She lives just outside Oxford, England. Mary Colson is a teacher and a writer. She is fascinated by the world and the cultures of different countries, with their unique myths and legends.
