Each book in this action-packed series includes the basics of the winter sport, the proper gear and skills needed to play, and a close look both at the history of the game and the current stars. The main focus is on the sport in its different disciplines, looking at what makes it thrilling both to watch and take part in.

About the Author

Claire Throp loves sea mammals and spent far too long looking at them while supposedly doing research for this book! She has written children's nonfiction on subjects ranging from countries to sports to. She lives just outside Oxford, England. Greg Siemasz lives in the great state of Michigan with his wife, cat, and Mr. Peepers, a French bulldog. When he's not watching hockey, you can find him teaching art or painting pictures of animals. Patrick Catel has worked in children's publishing for over a dozen years. He has been involved in the publication of hundreds of titles on a wide range of topics. If it's winter and he's not working on books, he's probably hitting the slopes! Paul Mason has written more than 100 books for children, on topics ranging from extreme sports to urban myths. Notable titles include Money Doesn't Grow on Trees and From Armpits to Zits for teens, and Monster Hunter, a series of books on tracking down and dealing with vampires, werewolves, extra-terrestrials, and ghosts. An avid surfer, snowboarder, and mountain biker, Paul writes many sports titles and has also produced a website guide to ski resorts.

It is THE website to use for narrowing down your search for any book. Definitely knocks the socks off any other book review website.
