Synopsis

Swap! by Steve Light

A broken-down ship. A loose button. An idea: Let's SWAP! In this first book of pirates and simple mental arithmetic from the acclaimed creator of Have You Seen My Dragon? and Have You Seen My Monster?, a pint-sized pirate sets out to help a sea captain repair his broken-down ship. One button for three teacups. SWAP! Two teacups for four coils of rope. SWAP! But can he really barter his way to a new vessel for the captain in need? Steve Light's exquisite, intricate pen-and-ink illustrations, punctuated with brilliant blue, anchor this clever tale of commerce, ingenuity and friendship.
