Synopsis

The Hut that Grew by Annie Dalton

When Princess Zena discovers she must move from her spacious, luxurious palace to live in the tiny gatekeeper's hut, she is devastated. Then a wise old man offers her some help - every day, the princess is told to fill the house with more and more animals. Soon she is sharing her bed with chickens and monkeys and a goat and a camel, and things aren't getting better, they're getting worse! But when they all leave, has the princess finally got what she wanted? The Hut that Grew is a retelling of an Ethiopian folk tale. Book band: Gold Ideal for ages: 5+
