Based on the popular song, The Twelve Days of Christmas , this story is about New York City. A small group of multi racial students have won a trip to the city, accompanied by a teacher. They scour the city, from the Statue of Liberty to Times Square, from Chinatown to Central Park, and discover what makes NYC a great place. The book includes a map of places to see when you visit.

About the Author

Tonya Bolden has written numerous, award winning books for kids, including Tell All the Children Our Story, a 2002 School Library Journal Best Book of the Year; Wake Up Our Souls, a YALSA BBYA; Maritcha, a Coretta Scott King Honor Book, YALSA BBYA, CCBC Best Book of the Year and winner of the 2006 James Madison Book Award. She lives in New York City. Gilbert Ford is an award winning children's book illustrator. He did the cover illustrations for our own Horton Halfpott and Peter Nimble. He lives in Brooklyn.
