Synopsis

Alice from Dallas by Marilyn Sadler, Ard Hoyt

Alice is a spunky cowgirl from Dallas ...Pennsylvania. But that doesn't stop her from wearing her boots and spurs and riding her stick pony to school each day. Alice is used to being the only cowgirl in town until Lexis from Texas arrives at her school. Lexis knows cowgirl sayings that Alice has never heard before and she can even use a lasso! There's only one way to decide who the better cowgirl is: a schoolyard showdown! While the showdown doesn't go quite as planned, Alice learns that it's fun to have other cowgirls around and to make a new friend and it doesn't matter where you come from as long as you stay true to yourself. After all, Lexis is from Texas ...Indiana.
