About the Author

Thomas B. Allen is the author or co-author of several books about military history and espionage. This is his fourth children's book for National Geographic. His books include George Washington, Spymaster, received starred reviews from both School Library Journal and Booklist and was named an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, A Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People, a New York Public Library 100 Titles for Reading and Sharing, and was a 2005 Capitol Choices Selection; Harriet Tubman, Secret Agent published Oct. 2006
