This is a lovely book and David Melling's illustrations are excellent.

's debt,'

... Junior Bears and crocodiles - usually the villains of the piece - are, in this sweet story, just two lost souls looking for a friend. ... I wasn't surprised to learn that this book had been written in collaboration with a class of school children - there is a certain naive stream-of-consciousness feel to the plot that only adds to its appeal. Carousel Endearing and poignant tale enhanced by appealing illustrations. Bournemouth Daily Echo Extremely inventive. School Librarian
