Synopsis

Chicken Tricken by Dawn McNiff

Chicken Tricken loves to play tricks! He is very good at tricking Goosey Loosey and Ducky Lucky out of their food. But what happens when he comes across the hungry fox? Hopscotch Twisty Tales combine carefully controlled text levels and word counts with highly entertaining and original stories, perfect for children 5-7 year olds starting to read independently.

About the Author

Dawn McNiff

Dawn McNiff lives in Gloucestershire with her two teenage daughters, and her big, bad dog, Gooner. They all squash into a little cottage that needs a jolly good tidy-up – but Dawn would much rather write than hoover. In 2008, she completed an MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University, and loved every moment. In the past, she has worked as a Bereavement Counsellor and an Advertising Copywriter – but her best job ever was in a children's bookshop. She now writes her own stories, grows beans and works in a school.

Dawn says.....“I was inspired to write Mummy’s Little Monster by my daughters, Poppy and Lola. Sometimes if I went out when they were small, they would shriek and cling on to my legs like baby monkeys. Of course they always had a lovely time with the babysitter in the end - just like Tiny Troll.”
