Synopsis

The Abominable Snow Penguin by Steve Hartley

Hi! I'm Oliver Tibbs (some people call me 'Oliver Fibbs') and sometimes my life gets a little DAB - Dull And Boring. So from time to time I 'get creative' with the truth at Show and Tell. Although I honestly am a Defender of Planet Earth, just like Agent Q in my favourite comics, and right now my uncle, the world-famous explorer, Sir Randolph, is lost in the Antarctic and it's up to me to find him. Plus a new ice age is about to freeze the Earth unless I find a way to stop it - there are evil snow beasts on the loose and - OK, maybe I'm exaggerating ...But as I keep telling everyone, THEY'RE NOT FIBS, THEY'RE STORIES!

Reviews

We read the last two Oliver Fibbs last summer when we were away on holiday. They marked the first time that H had read a book under the covers when he was supposed to be going to sleep. These books are great fun and The Abominable Snow Penguin sees Oliver Tibbs (or Fibbs) having more madcap adventures. 92three30.com

About the Author

Steve Hartley

Steve Hartley is a sensible man. He has a sensible job, a sensible family, lives in a sensible house and drives a sensible car. But underneath it all, he longs to be silly. There have been occasional forays into silliness: Steve has been a football mascot called Desmond Dragon and has tasted World Record success himself - in both a mass yodel and a mass yo-yo! But he wanted more, and so his alter ego Danny Baker Record Breaker was created. Steve lives in Lancashire with his wife and daughter. You can find out more about him on his extremely silly website.
