True Stories of Survival by Douglas Gibson, Terry Collins, Nel Yomtov

Against all odds, people have braved war, earthquakes, sharks, and even the open water of the ocean, and have lived to tell their stories. In graphic novel format, these true tales of courage, quick-thinking, and resourcefulness detail the survival stories of people who beat the incredible odds against them.

About the Author

Douglas Gibson and his wife and son live in lovely Asheville, North Carolina, along with a small dog named Spencer and a medium chicken named Juliet. When he isn't writing about books or designing them for other people, Douglas is usually hard at work writing books of his own. Terry Collins always knew he wanted to be a writer when he grew up. A former award-winning newspaper reporter and columnist, he now writes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels for readers of all ages. He also teaches literature and creative writing, helping to inspire other lovers of the written word. Terry lives in his hometown in North Carolina with his wife, Ginny, and their devoted dog, Bosley. A lifelong reader, he has a personal library that outgrew his house years ago. Despite his wife's gentle protests over a lack of space, he believes a person can never own too many books. The career path of Nel Yomtov has taken him from the halls of Marvel Comics, as an editor, writer, and colorist, to the world of toy development. He then became editorial and art director at a children's nonfiction book publisher, and now Nel is a writer and editor of books, websites, and comics for children. A harmonica-honking blues enthusiast, Nel lives in New York with his wife, Nancy. They have a son, Jess.
