About the Author

Helen Mott Bannister was born in the little town of Olla, Louisiana, and spent a considerable part of her life in the rural areas around Baton Rouge. Stan Routh is an architect/artist with a masters degree in history and design. In 1983, Stan and his son, Craig, were selected to do the Special Olympics poster awarded by Louisiana State University to all athletes, coaches, sponsors, and dignitaries at the Summer Games.
