The Scratch Coding Cards by Natalie Rusk

Scratch is the wildly popular educational programming language used in millions of homes and schools worldwide to create interactive art, stories, games, simulations, and music videos. With The Scratch Activity Cards, a colorful 52-card deck, kids work through beginner-friendly coding projects. Simple activities like a Racing Game, Hide and Seek, Pong, and a fun Dance Party grab a young programmer's attention while they learn about core programming concepts like variables, flow control, and subroutines. This fun and straightforward introduction to coding breaks projects down into step-by-step instructions and the collection can be easily shared among small groups at home or in school.Learning how to write code can be frustrating for beginners, but Scratch's graphic, block-based approach lets kids gain confidence in their skills as they learn the ropes. For teachers and parents looking to introduce young people to coding, this engaging set of activities is the perfect first step into the world of creative coding with Scratch, encouraging kids to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. For Ages 8 and Up
