The bouncy cartoons, wacky but well plotted vignettes, and glowing color palette promise to reel in new readers and satisfy young fans. Reading Sardine is about as close as American kids can get to sharing the experience of their French counterparts, who have greater access to such age-appropriate comics. About the Author

Emmanuel Guibert is one of the most talented comics creators in France today. As well as Sardine in Outer Space, his works include Alan's War, an extraordinary biography of his late from Alan Cope, an American WWII verteran, and The Photographer (with Didier Lefevre), a graphic novel about the war in Afghanistan.
