Ariol Just a Donkey Like You and Me by Marc Boutavant, Emmanuel Guibert

Ariol Just a Donkey Like You and Me by Marc Boutavant, Emmanuel Guibert

Brand new series from multiple award-winning author Emmanuel Guibert (The Photographer) and renowned illustrator Marc Boutavant! Ariol is your everyday tween donkey with blue glasses. He lives in the suburbs with his mom and dad. His best friend is a pig. He's in love with a beautiful cow in his class. His teacher is a dog. His gym teacher is a huge rooster. In short, Ariol is just like you and me. Kids will love the real humor around their lives on this one as they have in many other countries!

Definitely on the Wimpy Kid bandwagon, but less vicious with the satire and therefore all the more welcome. KIRKUS Whether Ariol is joining his father for a trip to the ATM, arguing with a friend about sneakers, accompanying his grandmother to the movies, pursuing his great crush, or emulating his favorite superhero, the author dares to depict the exclusionary, argumentative, self-centered ways children can sometimes behave, without giving up an iota of their charm. BOOKLIST I dare you to put it down once you start, and you'll agree, Ariol is the new kid in town for reluctant readers. KID LIT REVIEWS

His work springs from a wry observation of life and the interaction of his friends and children.
