Known for his strong arm and quick release, in 1984 Marino became the first NFL quarterback to pass for more than 5,000 yards in a season. During his 17-year career, Marino led the Dolphins to one Super Bowl appearance, a 38-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and was named to nine Pro Bowls. He holds virtually all of the NFL's career passing records, including yards, touchdown passes, and most games with 400 or more yards passing.
