The Encyclopedia of Junior Science is designed to introduce young readers to basic scientific concepts using simple language and illustrations. This new 10-volume encyclopedia contains approximately 270 alphabetically arranged entries covering six core branches of science; biology, chemistry, Earth science, environmental science, physics, and space. Each colorful entry gives an introductory definition as well as clear illustrations and examples of how a particular scientific concept, such as air pressure, echoes, habitats or microscopic life, relates to everyday life. Guidewords and guide letters help students quickly locate entries, and See also features allow for easy cross-reference. Each volume is enhanced by a helpful chronology and well-organized tables and charts. The final volume includes a comprehensive set index and appendixes for quick reference.
