The seven chapters cover the anatomy and physiology of the brain, brain development, the senses and the brain, emotions and feelings, memory and learning, language and speech, and the healthy brain. The information is well organized, clearly presented, and accurate. The format of the book is inviting. Each chapter has interest-catching sidebars and insets, including: key concepts

Each chapter includes several hand-on activities related to exploring such topics as right versus left dominance, testing your working memory, and stress and the brain. With 25 Projects, and Rocketry: Investigate the Science and Technology of Rockets and Ballistics. Her work has appeared in many magazines including Highlights, Faces, and Learning Through History. Carla lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.Tom Casteel is an illustrator and cartoonist with a master's degree from the Center for Cartoon Studies.
