Hugo the Lifesaving Sailor by Lorette Broekstra

Hugo the Lifesaving Sailor by Lorette Broekstra

When Penelope the penguin is lost at sea, it's Hugo to the rescue. This is a delightful companion to Hugo: the Flying Firefighter. 'Sail away, Gypsy,' says Hugo to his boat, and together they set off down the river. The people of Hometown are having fun on the water, but when the wind picks up, Hugo and Gypsy are blown out to sea. Someone is lost in the waves and it's Hugo to the rescue.

This is a charming little story, complemented by bold, vivid illustrations and yet another great example of imaginative page layout, which all combine to create an appealing book for very young readers.
